About the Exhibit
The Olive Creek Gallery proudly presents its inaugural exhibit entitled “Abstraction,” an ode to an artistic concept that first came to the forefront of Western art in the last century and has since been embraced in the country and continues to have its place in the discourse and practice of local artists as a vehicle for them to convey artistic matters and intentions.
Abstract art evokes feelings, experiences, and narratives that are intuitively shaped in lines, http://genericviagra4sexlife.com/ textures, movements and colors. Abstractionists create in liberty, devoid of the demands of realistic figures and true to their own perception. Their art allows absolute freedom for both the artist and the viewer. The artist is free to create and the viewer is free to interpret.
In this exhibition, the Olive Creek Gallery has gathered up five Filipino artists of different creative persuasions, aesthetic grounding and methods at play. The gallery gives due honor and remembrance to the late national artist, Jerry Elizalde Navarro who is one of
the leading proponents of abstraction in the Philippines. His last painting before he passed away in 1999 will be offered for viewing in the gallery.
In the field of sculpture, Ramon Orlina proves once again that he is the master of glass carving in the
country. His abstract rendition of glass sculptures shows inscrutable artistry and his league of 40 years dedicated to his medium.

Whatever medium chosen by the abstractionists, their art has a way of making an indelible impression. It is a return to the basic, to the essential, to the beginning of things. It is a movement away from defined forms and a departure from reality.
